Reading: A Gathering of Gargoyles- Meredith Ann Pierce
Drinking: Holy Water
Anime Expo was a lot of fun. I got to see Crispin Freeman in person XDDD, attended a Jyukai concert, and even got a book signed by Range Murata! Shadowbucket and I even saw Man Faye in our hotel!
Okay, so I just spent like 3 hours blogging about AX on my livejournal. To get the full story, with lots of pictures, you should visit there!
Crispin Freeman?! Lucky~ Sounds like you had a blast though. And he really is a cutie. XD
And about the lines he wrote on your DVD: definitely one of the saddest/bittersweet moments of the series. T.T
The other was Dio's demise. Not the fact per se, but what his mental state of mind was when he plunged. >.<

Hmm, kind of off topic, but I went to my livejournal for the first time in about three years and read my old entries XD I sound so hormonal!! lol...I'm glad I'm not like that anymore, because I've come to realize that I don't really like myself when I'm overly emotional (I don't think anyone does).
Whee, I commented. It was actually a really intiresting entry, if you ask me. The doodles I made are so stupi, though, looking back XD I was really (really really really) tired...
Holy Moly this new version of dA is different! I was really freaked out at first.
Now... I forgot you even HAD a livejournal. Why are you surprised you sound so hormonal? XDDD We all did. The perks of being a teenager.

What was also sad was Lucciola dying for Dio. Geez, there are so many sad moments in the final episodes of that anime!
I think Dio got better... after he was picked up by the Silvana, you hear his voice in the engine room at one point. Also, one of the artworks of LE portrays all the main characters doing laundry, and you see a bit of Dio walking in on the group, and everyone looks happy to see him. The scene resembles life after they defeated the guild, so... it's just a theory of mine.

Lucciola's death scene was definitely sad because we all knew it was coming. But my favorite moment was bittersweet where little Dio told little Lucciola that he was his friend.
And I must have missed that part, or rather, got confused at that part. I was never that good at catching subtle messages as a kid, so the voice in the engine room scene confused me.
Also, there was one thing that also bugged me about the series. Not so much as the anime itself, but the people who watched it. In the past I've seen forums topics and on more than one occasion people were sad about how Shetland "died"... even though we see him with his new family at the ending credits. And these were people who claimed to have seen the whole series. What the hell? o_O How does someone watch the entire series and miss something as vital as that? It's not as though they made it looked like nothing else was there and put extra scenes at the end to fool people.
In any case, that was my mini-rant. XD;

I know what you mean! When ppl were like, "zomg, it's so sad! Shetland died, blah blah blah." I'm thinking... "What? He's not dead... what are you talking about? Have you seen the last episode?" O_o (Though at first, I thought he had died too... they made it too dramatic, and when he returned, that sort of confused me too).
Maybe it's because sometimes the network that airs the anime didn't show the last part. Because honestly, I don't see how one could have missed it.

Yeah, I thought he died too because like you said, it was so dramatic. But then he pops out of nowhere with a kid on his shoulders and I'm thinking: Oh, cool... ...wait a minute.
I have to wonder just how many years had to have passed before they showed that ending credit because I would have thought only a few months had passed by at most. But that was certainly not the case if he's got a son that old... and his wife... she totally looks the same as when they first showed her. I kept thinking: There's NO way she could have popped two kids and become a stay-at-home mom and still look like she's a kid herself. But I wonder if that's the animators not being able to draw slightly older-looking characters.
Bah, that could be it. But that's so friggin' stupid. They shouldn't cut off airing at such a crucial part such as the final ending credits when there's still animation playing in the background.

My mistake. I went to read a little bit of info on Last Exile on Wikipedia and apparently the boy on Mulin's shoulders is not their son, but his younger brother-in-law... which makes a WHOLE lot more sense than thinking he was their son. XD;

The kid isn't Shetland and Dunya's son, hahaha. He's actually the girl's little brother. But talk about ambiguity.
